Last night it was one of those dreams where its not just
one, its like a big cluster of many little dreams. Very random, sporadic.
At first, I dreamed about a dog I had about 12 years ago,
named “Little Boo”. We called him that
because he was the son of our King Doberman “Dobie” (nickname “Boo”). Little Boo… Than name was a total oxy-moron,
because he was twice the size of his own father! Lol.
He was half Rottweiler. Sounds scary, but he really was the most
gentle-natured, sweet, loving, silly, goofy, jolly creature out there! He was completely unaware of his size. He reminded me a lot of “Shep”, the goofy
elephant in that movie “George Of The Jungle” with Brendan Fraser.
Well… Little Boo died
(quite young, he was only 2) when I was 20.
He got very sick, throwing up, screaming, crawling along the floor… Then went in a coma, and that was it. We were snowed in, so we couldn’t even go
for help. And it was a nightmarish thing
to witness. Devastating loss too, he
was a “big” and beloved part of the family.
Well… I had a dream
last night that Little Boo was back from the dead. And I often have that dream, even though its
been so many years.
I dreamed that I was back on my Dad’s property (which is
where we lived at the time), and I was talking to my brother Joey. We were
talking about Little Boo, and I was going on and on about how amazing it was
that Little Boo had been dead for a few YEARS, and now has come back. Then Joe started talking about all the other
people we heard of who also came back from the dead, like they died for a minute
in a hospital, and were revived… and I
argued that Little Boo was far more amazing, and it wasn’t the same, because he
was the only case I knew of who came back after YEARS.
I was walking around outside, trying to get Little Boo to
follow me, and instead he ran in Joe’s room (Joe didn’t actually know him in
real life, he didn’t move near us until later). I had to call Little Boo to make him come
outside and follow me. But once outside,
he came along easily.
Then my brother Joe came out, talking about how he wished he
had a mini refrigerator in his room.
Asking how much mine cost (I had one in my room). I told him only about $40, and it works
great, and we should get him one next time we are at Wal-Mart. Then we
discussed running an extension cord to my camper (I was staying in a camper
when I lived there), but a more direct cord, rather than transferring power
through other sources. Joe said it
would save power that way. Dunno if that’s
true, but hey, it’s a dream.
In the dream, our neighbors had a bunch of landscapers
working in their yard, pouring white sand all around the front yard. I though the white sand was cool, it reminded
me of the Salt Flats I saw when I passed through Utah. So I decided to follow workers secretly, to
see where they get their white sand from.
I didn’t think they would tell me.
I figured I could get some for myself, without anybody knowing.
Then for some reason, I just totally abandoned the
idea. And I was now standing around in
the grassy area outside my old college Dorms.
I was talking to a young woman who was friends with my brother Joe. For some odd reason, this girl seemed
otherwise really nice, but she seemed very wary and cautious of me. Or like she thought I was mean or weird? And I couldn’t understand why. She only existed in this dream, she is not
somebody my brother actually knows in real life.
But anyway, out of nowhere, my cousin Kathy (who I haven’t
seen in 15 years) suddenly showed up.
She stated talking to the girl, and the two of them very quickly became
buddies. So in the dream, I had Kathy
for a middle ground. Kathy was cool
with me, and cool with this girl. So it
was like since there was one person who liked both of us, and we were both cool
with her (Kathy), then we must both be cool people too! And suddenly that girl was ok with me, and we
became friends.
Then a big change of scene—I was in a car with my Dad (who
passed away only a few weeks ago). He
and I were driving around town (Dad in the driver’s seat). It was night time. There was a lady driving in front of us, not
turning her lights on. It was hard to
tell when she was hitting her breaks, and we almost hit her a few times. I told Dad slow down, because we can’t see
her very well and she had been randomly slowing down. Finally she turns on her lights, and it was
ok.
We are driving to the store, figuring out ways to save
money. Dad said we need extra groceries because
it will save on gas, as we live so far from town and we always barely make it to
the end of the month. Plus with extra
groceries we can feed the dogs some of our food if we run out of dog food. I told him to just get an extra bag of dog
food. He praised that as a wonderful
idea!
So we got all our groceries and tried to drive home. But we get lost. We kept losing our sense of direction,
turning around and going back the other way, multiple times. I kept looking at the compass on the dashboard
and it always said something different.
And… Well that was
the end of the dream. Not much of an
end, but hey, when you wake up, you wake up, lol.
I never could make a whole lot of sense of these random-type
dreams. The only part I can take a wild
stab at is maybe the part about getting lost in the car with Dad… He passed away, and that made me feel very
lost in the world, like I had nobody to turn to. No “home” as I always considered Dad’s home
my true home. Losing both my parents
within 5 months of each other, to sudden, unexpected heart attacks… And you yourself are not really doing so
good, not very independent in life… You
kinda lose all sense of direction.
Here are some videos I made about my Mom and Dad:
